Body Sculpting & SmartLiposuction

Take off what dieting wont.

Body Sculpting/ Smart Liposuction
– Permanently destroys fat cells
– Improves overall body shape
– Minimally invasive
– Coagulation resulting in tissue tightening

You’ve tried dieting. You’ve tried exercise. But parts of your body have simply refused to tone up. Now you can change all that. Smartlipo LaserBodySculpting is a revolutionary, minimally invasive treatment that does something no fitness routine in the world can: permanently destroy fat cells. Since your body has only a finite amount of these cells, no new fat cells come back. You can finally have that body you’ve always wanted.

How does LaserBodySculpting work?
This laser-assisted lipolysis procedure is performed using a one millimeter cannula (or tube) inserted into the skin. A laser fiber inside of the cannula delivers energy directly to fat cells, causing them to rupture and drain away as liquid. Simultaneously, tissue around the area coagulates, resulting in overall tighter skin tissue.

LaserBody Sculpting is ideal for the neck, jawline, arms, breasts, “bra fat,” abdomen, “love handles,” “saddle bags,” inner and outer thighs and knees.

Am I a candidate?
LaserBodySculpting is meant for areas that do not respond to diet or exercise. The perfect candidate is in good health and of normal body weight.

How does LaserBodySculpting compare to conventional liposuction?
Conventional liposuction is meant to remove greater amounts of fat. However, since this can leave behind unsightly pockets of skin, laser assisted lipolysis is often a perfect complement.

Is there a recovery period?
LaserBodySculpting is a minimally invasive procedure which usually requires only local anesthesia. Some light trauma can occur, but you’ll be able to return to work in a couple of days and resume exercise after 2 weeks.

How many treatments are required?

Typically only one treatment is required. Results can be seen within a week, with continued improvement over 3 to 6 months. A compression garment may be worn for a short period after treatment, depending on the body area treated.

Skin Resurfacing and Renewal
SmartSkin CO2 Micro Ablative Laser Skin Renewal & Resurfacing

Rejuvenate and repair your skin, subtract ten years…

Whether you are looking to refresh your look or appear years younger…there are a lot of reasons why you should consider micro-ablative skin rejuvenation.

Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing & Renewal is a revolutionary standard for:
- Wrinkle reduction
- Tighten loose skin
- Treat sun-damaged skin
- Brighten dark under eye circles
- Rejuvenate hands and neckline
- Smooth and treat uneven pigmentation
- Reduce pore size
- Improve skin irregularity

How does SmartSkin MicroAblative Laser Skin Renewal Work?
Dr Sarraf will use the SmartSkin laser to apply a series of tiny pulses of laser energy to your skin. As these microscopic holes heal, new younger looking skin is revealed and collagen is stimulated deep within your skin.

Two Treatments in One.
The skin is treated one micro-portion at a time – repeated thousands of times. Each micro- column receives just enough laser energy to vaporize the aged skin while also stimulating new collagen growth of surrounding tissue. It’s more than skin resurfacing, it’s deep skin rejuvenation. Outstanding results.

Immediately after the treatment, your body naturally starts working by replacing aged tissue cells with new ones. Shortly after the procedure, you will notice your skin to be visibly smoother, healthier and younger looking. Results will continue to improve over time. Patients can resume their normal active lifestyle in as little as little as one to four days, depending on chosen treatment level.

“I love the look and feel of my skin. I can’t believe that one simple and painless treatment virtually erased years of sun damage and renewed my skin. It feels so fresh and healthy that it was totally worth doing.” - Sarah

How long does the procedure last?
The entire face can be treated in as little as 15 to 30 minutes, with results lasting years given proper skin care and sun protection.

Is the procedure painful?
Topical anesthetic makes the procedure virtually painless. Afterward, you may experience a mild heat sensation similar to a sunburn, itchiness, and dryness in the treated area.

How many treatments will I need?
Thanks to the versatility of the SmartSkin Micro-Ablative Laser Skin Renewal, you and your Clinician can decide how many treatments will be needed to meet your aesthetic expectations. Outstanding results can be achieved in as little as one session, but will require a longer healing period than if a milder multiple session treatment is elected.

What is the recovery time?
Since SmartSkin is micro-ablative, recovery time is significantly shorter than for fully ablative technology. Within the first few days of treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling with minimal pain. Each micro-channel of ablation will quickly heal and you will be able to apply makeup on the treated surface and return to your normal lifestyle in as little as 1- 2 days.

CO2 Fractional Laser
Maybe laser surgery won’t make you younger, but it certainly can make you look that way. With new advances in laser skin resurfacing tactics, the Fountain of Youth might prove not to be a myth after all.

CO2 Fractional Laser treatment, combines the effectiveness of classic carbon dioxide lasers with a new application that prevents damage to the epidermis, or best layer of skin. This enhances its use for such issues as wrinkles, moles, scars and other skin circumstances.

There are two kinds of lasers:
Ablative lasers, which remove only the leading layer of the skin, or epidermis, and non-ablative lasers, which eliminate tissue below the epidermis. The former, which include CO2 lasers, are appropriate for use with minor facial issues that are mostly on the skin’s surface, such as blemishes and wrinkles.

Non-ablative lasers are used to correct deeper skin condition, such as birthmarks, enlarged blood vessels, severe acne, scars, and for removing unwanted hair.

Role of Collagen
As we age, we tend to lose the critical connective tissue protein referred to as collagen, which makes skin powerful and elastic. Exposure to the sun and pollution also takes a toll on collagen. As a result, wrinkles can produce and skin can sag.

To stimulate the body’s organic production of collagen, laser resurfacing utilizes beams of light to bore tiny holes in the skin. This technique requires recovery period and some facial redness may occur temporarily that will eventually fade overtime.

Skin Regions Left Intact
The CO2 Fractional Laser therapy breaks up the laser beam into many small fractionated, or micro, beams which send thousands of tiny columns of heat deep into the skin. This heat destroys old skin cells and induces the production of new collagen.

Fractional resurfacing can be performed on the face, neck, chest, and hands. Frequent side effects can include short-term redness and swelling.

Anti-aging Laser
Facial Skin Treatment, Laser Anti-Aging
Reverse the signs of aging and skin laxity with the non-ablative 1064 nmnd YAG laser.
- For all skin types
- Improve overall skin texture and appearance
- Reduce wrinkles
- Treat sun-damaged skin
- Stimulates skin to produce new collagen
- No downtime

Correcting wrinkles and skin laxity can significantly contribute to overall facial appearance. The ablative and non-ablative lasers are the two current mainstays of skin tightening and rejuvenation.

Cosmetic lasers are proven to effectively treat the wrinkles, photo aging and skin discolorations that time and sun have wrought.

In addition to minimizing these imperfections, laser treatment also stimulates collagen production, making your skin appear more supple and full. So even if the years have taken their toll, you can now easily turn the clock back.

How does it work?
Cosmetic laser treatments reverse the signs of aging and sun-damaged skin by stimulating collagen production and promoting tissue tightening through tissue coagulation.

Am I a candidate?
It’s as simple as this ~ if your skin is showing signs of aging, then you are a candidate for laser treatment. Dr. Sarraf can help you determine your specific needs.

Are there any side effects to treatment?
Anti-aging treatment should cause only minimal discomfort. Any redness, swelling or puffiness that occurs can be gone within a few days, if not a few hours.

How many treatments are required?
Results vary with each case. Patients may require anywhere from 2 to 6 treatments to achieve desired results. Each session will last from 15 to 30 minutes.

How long do results last?
Just like the aging process itself, this varies from person to person. However, if you take steps to protect and preserve your freshly rejuvenated skin—such as using SPF sunscreen, facial cleansers and creams—the results will last longer.

Coupling Dr. Sarraf’s special laser hand piece with a thermal sensor and a cooling cryogen blast allows him to better control the surface temperature of the skin. The laser is able to induce greater thermal stimulation of dermal fibroblasts within the papillary dermis and the mid-reticular dermis, while cooling the epidermis and protecting it from direct thermal injury.

Dr Sarraf’s extended-pulse 1064-nm Nd:
YAG Laser is a safe and proven technology that has been effectively used in laser epilation in patients of all skin types and colors. The advantages of this modality for wrinkle reduction include the technical ease of performing the procedure, minimal to no patient discomfort, and the ability to treat all skin types with little risk of epidermal injury.

We offer free consultations at Aphrodite Skin Care Clinic, providing the most relaxing and pleasurable atmosphere possible.

Pigmented Treatment
Facial Skin Treatment with Cosmetic Laser
- Reverse the signs of sun-damaged skin
- Reduce pigmentation
- Treat the blush of rosacea
- Improve overall skin texture and appearance

If you're an active person, chances are you spend more than your fair share of time in the sun. And if you're over thirty, you are more likely to show signs of premature aging due to sun damage. With facial skin treatment, you can now treat sun spots, pigmented lesions and overall skin texture—giving you a more revitalized appearance than you've had in years.

Dr. Sarraf utilizes state-of-the-art Alexandrite laser technology for removing and tailoring treatment for all mentioned pigmented lesions: Sun Spots, freckles, age spots, melasma, café-au-lait and various birthmarks are just a few of the commonly known marks generally referred to in the medical profession as pigmented lesions. Except for birthmarks, they are almost always caused by years of cumulative exposure to damaging ultraviolet rays.

How does it work?
Facial skin treatment works by directing a beam of light to an irregularity in the skin, such as enlarged blood vessels or irregular chromophore. This removes the abnormality without scarring or damage, while stimulating collagen production to tighten the surrounding tissue, resulting in improved skin texture and reduced signs of aging.

How does this treatment differ from chemical peels and dermabrasion?
Unlike other treatments that remove and outer layer of skin and require significant healing time, laser treatment works by gently penetrating the skin to destroy the underlying vessels and pigment that are the cause of the problem. The outer skin itself is not damaged.

Is the treatment painful?
The treatment causes only minimal discomfort and any initial soreness is easily alleviated with cold air cooling system.

How many treatments are required?
Typically, several sessions are required for full-face treatment. The average treatment takes about 15-20 minutes. Results may be seen after the first few treatments The treatment can be performed in a relaxed, comfortable manner without the use of typical anesthetics or gel.

How long does recovery take?
You'll be able to return to normal activities immediately, though sunscreen should be applied as a post- treatment precaution.

The doctor will identify your specific type of lesion and discuss the removal success rate associated with your condition. If you would like your face treated, we may recommend a special skin care line to optimize your results after treatment.

Most common pigmented lesions are removed within one to three treatments. Some deeper lesions will require more treatments.

In the first couple of hours after treatments, clients experience a warm sensation and some redness similar to a light sunburn. The day following treatments you will develop some darkening of the treated brown spots. It is important that you not scrub off these dark areas. They need to heal from within and will fall off on their own. You can apply makeup over the areas the next day. We recommend that you use a moisturizer and a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen to prevent further UV damage to your skin, minimizing sun-induced melanocyte stimulation which would create more dark spots over time.

At Aphrodite Clinic we offer free consultations and provide the most relaxing and pleasurable atmosphere possible.

Vascular Treatment
Now you see them, now you don't. Remove leg and facial veins with cosmetic laser treatment.

Frees you from the use of heavy cover-up cosmetics which can cake and clog pores during the day.

Helps you get back to wearing shorts and bathing suits again

They're quite the nuisance, aren't they?
Leg and facial veins are bothersome at best, unattractive at worst. Fortunately, with cosmetic laser treatment, you can make yourself look and feel a whole lot better – often with as little as only one or two visits.

What causes unwanted veins?
Red, blue or purple leg and facial veins can be a result of sun exposure, use of oral contraception, hormone therapy, age or genetics.

How does laser treatment work?
A cosmetic laser emits a prescribed dose of energy to the vein. The laser “selectively” targets the problem veins while sparing surrounding areas. After treatment, the vessel will naturally disappear.

How many treatments are required?
Typically only one or two treatments are required and results can be seen in 3–4 weeks. Treatment time is usually 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.

The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Any redness or swelling should be gone within a day, and you’ll be able to resume normal activities immediately..

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal - Get to the root of the problem
- For the entire body
- For all skin types, including tanned skin
- Cost effective
- Simple treatment

Almost everyone has unwanted hair somewhere on their body. Unfortunately, traditional hair removal routines can be tedious, painful and expensive over time. Shaving may last a day, waxing a couple of weeks, but none of them last forever, and therein lies the true beauty of laser hair removal. With our treatment, most patients can go right back to work with no after-effects, even after treating large areas.

How does it work?
To eliminate hair, the laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy it so that hair can never grow there again.

Am I a viable candidate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal can be applied to all areas of the body and on all types of skin (even tanned or dark skin).

Does it hurt?
The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Patients often say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localized swelling can occasionally occur, but this usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment.

How many treatments are required?
Typically patients will see results in 4 – 6 treatments, though this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair color, and several other factors. Dr Sarraf will talk to you about variables that may affect your individual results.

Aphrodite Skin Care Clinic is equiped with a Gentle MAX combined dual wavelength 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG offering next-generation intense pulsed-light handpiece, integrated cryogen cooling system, and larger spot sizes, delivers effective, customizable treatment of unwanted hair, pigmented or vascular lesions with the potential to sucessfully treat the full range of skin types.

All patients are assessed by Anoush Sarraf, MD, and Vahideh Tajallaie, MA, certified and licensed experts for performing laser procedures. We will assess your individual case, formulating a treatment plan that is best for you. At Aphrodite we provide the most relaxing and pleasurable atmosphere possible, and we offer free consultations.

Botox

The real, noticeable results of BOTOX® Cosmetic

Discover the proven results that 11 million women and men have experienced.

What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes those lines to form between the brows.

BOTOX® Cosmetic May Be the One for You
With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why BOTOX® Cosmetic has been chosen by millions of women and their doctors.

BOTOX® Cosmetic may be the one for you. You may feel that the moderate to severe glabellar lines between your brows make you look tired or unapproachable, or have other reasons for being curious about BOTOX® Cosmetic.

The Treatment
The administration of BOTOX® Cosmetic involves:
No anesthesia is required. However, your doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Only a very small sting is felt when the injections are made. The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. Research has suggested, however, that long term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment's effect. Patients over the age of 65 may not experience as dramatic of results. Botox is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be used to repair sagging skin caused by aging.

Your doctor will administer a few tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic directly into the muscles that cause those moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows.

Treatment time lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Why Should I Consider BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Years of squinting, concentrating, or frowning can cause your skin to furrow and crease. As time passes, your skin becomes less elastic and those moderate to severe frown lines between your brows remain even when your muscles arent contracting. The moderate to severe frown lines between your brows that form are often referred to as your 1s and may make you look angry and unapproachable.

Post-Procedure Information:
After the procedure patients may experience slight bruising around the area that quickly fades. Normal activities can be performed immediately. Possible side effects are temporary weakness of nearby muscles or in rare cases an eyelid may droop. Botox is completely reversible so any side effect is only a temporary condition. The doctor will explain all risks associated at the time of your consultation

Injectable Dermal Filler
- Hyaloronic Acid Gel
- Restylane
- Juvederm
- Radiesse

As our bodies age, our skin also ages and begins to show changes that may be undesirable. The fat and collagen underlying our skin begins to diminish due to the natural aging process. Therefore, our skin starts to sag and develop wrinkles. One way to correct these effects is a surgical procedure called a facelift, which is costly and is an invasive procedure that has risks.

Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive procedure with little or no recovery time, which costs less than surgery and has minimal risks. Dermal fillers have become a very trendy way to address the aging process.

Dermal fillers can be injected into areas with fine lines and wrinkles. Most of the problem areas include the area around the eyes, brow, bridge of the nose, mouth, jaw line and cheeks. Other areas that can be enhanced by dermal fillers include the lips, which can look fuller and younger after an injection. Scarring from injury to the face or acne can also be corrected with dermal fillers.

There are many different types of dermal fillers which include human collagen, hyaluronic acid, donor tissue fat and even ones own fat (autologous fat). Each of the dermal fillers has different strengths and weaknesses, some last longer than others, sometimes a combination of different fillers may be used for best results. Dermatologists can formulate a specific treatment for each individual patient.

Bovine collagen was the first legally approved soft tissue augmentation in the U.S. Bovine collagen is derived from domestic cattle; therefore, Mad Cow Disease is a risk factor that may limit their use. Some patients may be allergic to bovine collagen therefore skin testing is required before they can be used. Bovine collagen is not used much anymore due to the availability of human collagen and other more superior filling agents.

Human collagen does not require skin testing and therefore may be more favored. Hyaluronic acid gives skin volume by binding to water and requires no skin testing. Autologous fat is usually taken from the thighs, buttocks or stomach by a micro liposuction procedure. Calcium hydroxyapatite degrades slowly; therefore the result is longer lasting. Some other dermal fillers include, poly-L-lactic acid, polymers and collagen related implants, and many new products that are constantly being researched.

Common side effects of dermal fillers include bleeding or bruising after the procedure. Allergic reactions have also been reported. Superficial beading of the overlying skin immediately after the procedure may be disturbing to the patient; reassuring the patient that it usually resolves spontaneously with time may be necessary. Patient should expect some degree of pain during the injection and redness for up to 36 hours after the procedure. Application of ice to the injection sites can decrease these symptoms.

Lip Enhancement

As we age, our lips lose their volume and vertical lip lines can form. These can be caused by the reduced levels of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid as we age and also by smoking, sun damage and gravity.

Dermal fillers can be used to enhance lip contour and increase the volume of the lips.

Facial Peel

- 15% passion fruit
- 30% vitamin C/enzyme
- 50% lactic and kojic acid
- 20% salycilic and glycolic acid
- 40% glycolic and retinoic acid

A chemical peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. Typically administered as a facial peel, a chemical peel enhances and smoothes the texture of the skin. It is an effective treatment for facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation.

How is chemical skin peel actually performed?
Some aspects of the chemical peel procedure differ according to the type of peel (light, medium, or deep) being administered. However, all skin peel procedures follow the same basic protocols:

The doctor or aesthetician cleanses the patient’s skin and, if necessary, applies a topical anesthetic to the treatment area.

The doctor or aesthetician then applies the chemical peel solution. This solution is formulated according to each patient's specific needs and goals. It is common for the patient to feel a tingling or stinging sensation as the chemical peel is applied.

After the skin peel solution has been on the skin for the prescribed amount of time, it is washed off with water. A soothing ointment is then applied; a thick coating of petroleum jelly is often used after deep chemical peels.

The doctor or aesthetician then instructs the patient on aftercare, and the doctor may also prescribe a mild pain reliever for discomfort after the procedure, especially if a deep chemical peel was administered. Depending on the patient’s skin condition and the depth of the chemical peel, multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired results.
